Information about Shower enclosures

   Shower enclosures

Tempered glass
Shower enclosures are made of tempered glass which conforms to EN 12150-1 standard. Tempered glass is five to ten times harder than ordinary glass. When it breaks, it crumbles into small fragments without sharp edges instead of splintering into jagged shards. Tempered glass is more safe and less likely to cause injury. It has thermal strength and can withstand temperatures up to 300 degrees Celsius.

WasserSchutz glass coating
Produced by chemical and physical processes, WasserSchutz coating becomes an integral part of the glass. It protects the surface from water stains and lime deposits. Thanks to the invisible protective layer, water droplets do not remain on the glass surface, but run off, leaving no streaks. This guarantees easy product maintenance.
The side of the glass coated with WasserSchutz in WasserKRAFT shower enclosures is marked with a special sticker. This side should be installed inside of the shower enclosure.
We recommend using a special K-211 shower squeegee for daily care.

High-quality plating.

- Black and white coating
Black and white coating of shower enclosures is made of using powder paint. A thin layer of dye pigment is applied to the products using a special spray gun. After one layer has dried, the next one is applied, and the process is repeated several times to make the coating denser and more durable.
Powder paint has strong anti-corrosion properties. A special application technique enables the coating to be applied evenly without any streaks.

- Nickel-chrome plating
Components and parts of shower enclosures have nickel-chrome plating which is steady to fogging and easy to clean and gives the products a reflective shine and silvery color.

Easy clean system
It helps to clean the product easily even in a hard to reach places. Your shower enclosure will always stay clean and look great.

Series Main 41S and Lippe 45S are equipped with a door release system that allows all product parts to be easily maintained. Just press a button on the lower rollers inside the shower enclosure and separate the door from profile.

For series Dinkel 58R and Alme 15R simply remove the plug on the inside of shower enclosure’s lower profile and slide the door away.

For shower enclosures with pivot or folded mechanisms, all surfaces are easily accessible for cleaning. For series Aller 10H, Aller 10HBLACK, Aller 10HBLACK MATT and Aller 10HWHITE hinges are mounted flush on the inner side. This makes caring for your shower enclosure an effortless process.

Safe processing of cut glass
The open edges of the glass are beveled. The edges of the glass are cut at an angle and polished thoroughly. This makes the edges smooth, level and perfectly safe. It is impossible to cut yourself on the open edges of the glass. The beveled finish also makes the product look complete.

Sturdy door opening/closing mechanism
All door opening/closing mechanisms WasserKRAFT shower enclosures are designed for at least 30,000 operating cycles. That means a family of four can use the shower for at least 10 years.

- Swing mechanism. Allows the door to open widely for easy access inside the shower enclosure. The shower enclosures use 2 different swing mechanisms to open: Pivot and Hinges.
In Pivot swing system, doors are opened and closed via upper and lower hinges (Leine 35P, Berkel 48P, Elbe 74P, Neime 19P). The hinges are made of brass or metal alloy in the form of a rod that rotates around its axis.

Hinges swing mechanism is the more traditional hinged door opening mechanism. The door opening mechanism is fitted with a special lifting device. It lifts the shower enclosure door when opening. This provides for a quiet opening/closing action and extends the service life of the silicone door seals. It is used in the following product series: Aller 10H, Aller WHITE 10H, Aller BLACK 10H, Aller BLACK MATT 10H.

- Sliding mechanism. Allows for maximum space saving in the bathroom. Shower enclosures use two roller opening systems: Sliding and Rollers.

Rollers mechanism is used in series Vils 56R, Alme 15R and Dinkel 58R. Doors are mounted on upper suspension rollers and equipped with anti-jumping system. This makes the door slide smoothly and quietly along the upper profile. These shower enclosures do not have a bottom sill plate.

In the Sliding system, rollers move along the upper and lower guide rails. This allows the rollers to slide gently and quietly. This mechanism is used in the following series: Rhin 44S, Dill 61S, Main 41S, Lippe 45S.
Rhin 44S and Dill 61S shower enclosures use cam rolls. These allow the door to be adjusted after installation for a tight closure and easy opening.

- Fold mechanism.
This is a combination of Pivot swing and Sliding mechanisms. The doors slide along the upper and lower rails and fold into the inside of the shower enclosure. This allows for maximal space saving within the bathroom. It features a sturdy metal profile with soft, smooth sliding rollers.

- Infold mechanism.
Infold mechanism is actually two mechanisms combined into one. On the one hand, the door rotates on the upper and lower hinges. On the other hand, when opening the door, one part of it opens inside the shower enclosure, as if folding in, while the other part swings to the outside. This mechanism is designed to save space within the bathroom, because the door takes up less space when opened.

Universal door

It allows installing the item in accordance with your design and preferences.

Material of profile
All profiles are made of anodized aluminum in a silvery finish. Thanks to its corrosion-resistant properties, aluminum is ideal for areas with high humidity and sudden temperature changes. The material retains its original appearance and color for a long time.

Adjustable profile
The ability to adjust the side profile affords to compensate for uneven walls and to adjust the size of the shower enclosure to match a particular interior, in addition to simplifying the installation process.  Profile can be adjusted from 12 to 30 mm depending on the model.

Telescopic adjustable profile
In series Berkel 48P uneven walls can be compensated by adjusting the upper and lower profiles. Each part consists of two elements. When installed, these parts can slide inside each other. On this step of assembly, profile can be adjusted by +/- 20 mm. That is, one profile can be pushed inside the other as required.

Silicone seals
- Shower doors use silicone seals with magnet closing. Due to magnet closing, shower doors close hermetically, tightly adhering to each other. This prevents a door from opening while you are taking a shower.

- The products use silicone seals to ensure that the glass fits firmly against profile and floor. This is required to keep shower enclosures watertight and to prevent water from leaking out.
All silicone seals are environmentally friendly and easy to install. They are resistant to heat and high humidity. They are practically invisible within the shower enclosure, which gives the product a more aesthetic appearance.

Decorative elements
Each series of shower enclosure is unique and individual in its design.

Series Dinkel 58R features a set of rollers with a round decorative lining, while Alme 15R series includes a square decorative lining. This allows you to choose a shower enclosure to suit the overall style of the bathroom interior, where every detail has been carefully thought out.

In series Aller 10H, Aller WHITE 10H, Aller BLACK 10H, and Aller BLACK MATT 10H hinges and door handles are decorated with colored ABS-plastic covers in black, white or chrome.  The color scheme of these parts creates a complete interior, matching the overall bathroom style.

   Shower trays

Material

- Acrylic. Shower trays are made of 5 mm thick acrylic. This is a highly durable and impact-resistant material. This also reduces noise when the water stream hits the tray surface. Material warms up quickly and maintains its temperature for a long time. Acrylic also does not absorb dirt, which helps preserve the product’s original appearance for many years. Acrylic shower trays are easy to care for. Just wipe the surface with a dry soft towel after use.

- SMC (fiberglass). SMC is a high-performance composite material. It is unrivalled in terms of its value for the money, strength and weight.
SMC trays are robust and durable. They do not suffer from deformation after extended use and are highly resistant to heat and corrosion. These trays can be cut to the right size.

- Polymarble. It is a special composite, which is nearly identical to natural stone in appearance. These kinds of surfaces are not only very beautiful, but also easy to clean. This material is environmentally friendly and does not release toxins into the environment. Polymarble trays are strong and durable. They are resistant to chemicals and mechanical damages.

Rugged construction

Acrylic is an elastic material that is why it is reinforced with a metal reinforcement. Metal reinforcement offers extra support around the skirtings and for the central part of product.
Shower tray skirtings are further reinforced with ABS plastic. All this makes the structure very stable and reliable in its use.
