An endless variety of faucets and sinks are available in the market, all varying by shape, installation method, material, etc. However, the more options you have, the harder it is to find the right combination for comfortable and safe use.
When it comes to renovating a bathroom, we start with choosing the tiles, then search for fittings, and finally go shopping for faucet and accessories. To choose the right faucet for your situation, take note of the sink’s dimensions.
Sink depth.
There’s only one rule here: the deeper the sink, the taller the faucet. A deep sink goes well with the WasserKRAFT Weser 7803 faucet. If you have a medium-depth sink, almost any faucet version can work, for example a standard height (WasserKRAFT Ammer 3703 or 3704, Aller 1063 or 1064, Leine 3503 or 3504) or shorter faucet (WasserKRAFT Oder 6303, Amper 2903). However, if your sink is too low, you should choose a medium-height faucet: shorter faucets are not convenient for washing hands, while taller spouts will spill water everywhere.
Sink width.
This is the distance between the front and rear edge of the sink. When choosing a faucet, pay attention to the spout length. If you have a wide sink, the spout should be as long as possible. This will allow make it easier for you to wash the sink, not just your hands.
Make sure the spout doesn’t get too close to the outer edge of the sink. Otherwise you might end up spraying water all over yourself.
Sink shape.
This criteria is particularly important, as stores sell sinks of every shape and style imaginable. The most common sinks are typically oval, square-shaped or rounded. Here you should pay attention to functionality as well as style. A square sink looks better with a more square-looking faucet (WasserKRAFT Aller 1063, Main 4104), and on the contrary, an oval sink looks good with smooth, streamlined shapes (WasserKRAFT Rhein 1703, Donau 5303 or Isen 2603).
As for convenience, when selecting a round sink make sure the water falls at the center of the bottom. This will prevent water from spilling over the edges.
Edge width.
The faucet spout should be located at a distance over the edge of the sink (on which the faucet is installed) such that you can easily wash your hands and face without touching the sides of the sink. If you can’t do that, the faucet and the sink do not match.
